Recently, I had a family member at Timberline Post Acute Skilled Nursing Facility in Albany for hospice care. Although I already work here, this experience allowed me to see the facility from the perspective of a family member, and it made me even more proud to be part of this team. The staff showed so much compassion, kindness, and support during such a difficult time for our family. As things became closer to the end, they were incredibly accommodating and thoughtful. They provided us with a private room where we could spend quiet time together and grieve as a family, which meant more than words can express. They also brought us a comfort cart filled with snacks and items for the kids, which was such a caring gesture during an emotional time. Every nurse and staff member listened to our concerns and addressed them promptly and respectfully. I’m truly grateful for the care my family member received and for the compassion shown to all of us. This experience reminded me why Timberline is such a special place.

A Professional Family’s Review: Exceptional Clinical Care and Miraculous Recovery at Timberline My elderly mother recently completed a two-month rehabilitation stay at Timberline following surgery for complex and comminuted fractures. As a family of professionals—including a Medical Doctor (daughter-in-law), a currently practicing Registered Nurse (RN) at a California SNF (niece), and a legal professional with a U.S. law school background (myself)—we observed every detail of the facility through daily visits of 6–7 hours. Based on our professional standards, we wish to share our experience. We have no affiliation with Timberline and are leaving this review entirely of our own volition. Nursing Staff: Strategic Leadership and High-Performance Care Director of Nursing (DON) possesses the strategic leadership and commanding presence of General MacArthur or General Patton. Her ability to meticulously direct every nurse and CNA ensured there were zero gaps in patient care, giving us immense confidence in the facility. The nurses were extraordinary—always vigilant with “hawk eyes,” they monitored and cared for residents with the speed and precision of a high-performance computer. I never saw a nurse idling; they moved systematically like a CPU, resolving every issue with impressive efficiency. Another pillar of Timberline is the CNA team. Despite my mother’s dementia and total dependence on ADLs, they visited her dozens of times a day with profound dedication. They combined exceptional professional skills with genuine warmth and humanity. Their compassionate care was truly moving. We are deeply grateful to the entire nursing team. Physical Therapy (PT): A Scientific Miracle Given the severity of my mother’s comminuted fractures, we were initially devastated and doubtful she would ever walk again. However, the PT team at Timberline worked a literal miracle. Their daily rehabilitation sessions were scientific and systematic, utilizing a wide array of specialized equipment in the PT room. While a successful surgery is the foundation, it is meaningless without expert rehabilitation. These therapists did not treat their work as just a job; they approached my mother with the patience, encouragement, and love one would give their own family. Their humanity and kindness were the keys to her remarkable recovery. Attentive Doctors and Geriatric Expertise: The doctors took the time to listen deeply to my mother’s unique needs and the specific concerns of our family. They spent significant time personally checking every detail, adjusting orders, and preventing potential issues before they arose. Their specialized training and extensive experience in geriatric care were evident, making us feel completely at ease. Social Workers, Administration, and Facility Management: The Social Workers are the “gems” of Timberline. They were incredibly industrious, ensuring my mother’s safety and well-being while maintaining excellent communication with us to resolve every issue. I will never forget them standing at the entrance, warmly waving goodbye to my mother on the day of her discharge. The Administrator also played a vital role, acting as the captain of the ship. We often saw the Administrator navigating the halls, checking nursing desks and resident rooms to ensure the “Timberline ship” was steered toward maximum satisfaction and safety. We also thank the Financial Manager, who was always kind and helpful during our phone calls. The food was absolutely excellent. To everyone at Timberline: Thank you for your professionalism, your heart, and for giving my mother her mobility back. More than just medical care, your team restores the dignity, happiness, and quality of life that every family treasures.

After a hospital stay, my mother with mobility issues, was moved to Timberline for care and physical therapy. The nurses, physical therapists, and staff were wonderful and very helpful in helping her gain confidence and improve her mobility before coming home. Staff were always friendly, uplifting, and had a positive attitude. We are very grateful for care that was provided to my mother during a hard time.

We’ve had my 89-year-old mother at Timberline for a little over a month now after surgery for fractures in her left arm and left hip, and I wanted to leave a mid-stay review. From Day 1, everything was ready for her arrival. As soon as she got there, around 8 or 9 staff members from different departments came by one after another over the course of about an hour, and they handled everything very smoothly. Everyone was very kind, answered all of our family’s questions, and made the whole admission process feel organized and reassuring. The physical therapists have been very professional and systematic in the way they are working with my mother. They give us confidence that the rehab goals we are hoping for are truly achievable. More than that, they care for and train her almost as if she were their own family member. The nurses, social workers, CNAs, doctor, financial manager, and really all of the staff have been incredibly kind. They have been doing an excellent job caring for my mother’s condition and safety, while also attentively helping with her medications, toileting, bathing, meals, insurance approvals, and the concerns and burdens our family is facing. They have also been very responsive to our family’s detailed requests. They follow through quickly, don’t let things slip through the cracks, and they give feedback so we know what has been done. The doctor caring for my mother here is also incredibly kind and attentive. She looks after and manages her condition with great care, clearly addresses our family’s concerns, and listens carefully to our requests, which has been very reassuring for us. I also want to mention the food. The variety is amazing, including Asian options, and the meals are far better than we ever expected in a rehab facility. I have nothing negative to say about the food—it is excellent. The surgeon who performed my mother’s surgery so skillfully made it possible for her to stand again, and this facility is now dedicatedly and systematically helping rebuild her from the ground up so that she can walk and function again.

We could not get our mom transferred fast enough from here. Timberline is a terrible Care Home. We had our Mom there for only a week and it was the worst experince for her and her family. If you or a family member are not there they treat the patient terrible. They are also very unprofessional, awful customer service and when you enter the facility it smells like urine and “Not Welcoming at ALL”. We have a lot of family and we are very supportive of our parents. We were told we could only have 3 family members in the room at a time. WOW! You would think they would want as many family and friends to visit as possible to keep the patient company. They make them wait 45 minutes to an hour to answer the call light. So if the patient has to use the restroom obviously by then they are not being able to hold it after that long of a wait. Mom was crying by then. So sad!! If you do not come by and visit often to watch. They will not take care of anything. You have to ask for almost everything that gets done. We had to ask them to shower her, take her to the bathroom, change her bed sheets and also change her night gown. It was not a good experience at all. My Mom was not to put any pressure on her leg so they were trying to lift her up by her brace on her leg. Terrible idea!! Also, not putting her brace on correctly and leaving it very loose. They have employees that go out back to smoke and vape and they come back in and go straight to the patients room very unsanitary. They should be washing their hands before they enter a patients room. The day she was being transferred. They did not even have everything organized. We are pushing her out in a wheel chair and they are throwing her medication at us to take asking my sister to sign off on it and having my Mom sign papers to check out. You would think that they would have had all that done prior to her leaving. Also, the lady sitting at the nurses desk ask where she was being transferred to and we told her and She said, Good luck with that place it is the worst staff ever. I am writing this in hopes they can make some changes there so patients can feel taken care of and loved. The facility we had our mom transferred to has amazing staff, its clean and took great care of our Mom until she was rehabbed out.

Needed a post acute facility for my wife following a neuro problem. Searched nearby facilities and after visiting several decided on Timberline Post Acute in Albany Oregon. Reasons; staff was very friendly and attentive to all residents needs; it was CLEAN from the entrance to the far reaches. I could tell someone(employee) pays close attention. Public restroom was a good example of how clean the rest was. Nurses Aid people, working hard to keep all work caught up and residents quickly take care of. Good facilities and great help. It comes from the top. Ann, the administrator, was courteous and friendly to all, was very much impressed with her people skills. She even cooked pancakes for all just before Christmas! If I need a place for my wife again, it would be Timberline!

Timberline became so much more than just a care facility for my dad over the last six years, they became his family. My dad Ron passed away two weeks ago, and I am beyond grateful for every single person who cared for him during his time there. The compassion, patience, and genuine love shown to him is something I will never forget. The staff consistently went way above and beyond to make sure my dad was comfortable, respected, and treated with dignity, even on the days when he was a bit of a handful(and he was a handful). They met him with grace, humor, and understanding, and that meant everything to me. My brother and I have sometimes wondered if he ever felt alone while living there. But seeing the incredible love and care shown to him in his final days, we absolutely know that he wasn’t. In his final moments, the team not only honored my dad with such kindness, but they also made sure our family was supported, cared for, and never felt alone as well. There truly are not enough thank yous in this lifetime to express how grateful I am for the entire Timberline team. From the bottom of my heart , thank you for loving my dad and becoming a second family to him. ❤️

I want to thank some of the staff like Jennie, Steven ,Tyler, Amber, Alajadra, Sarah, Deb, Tonya, Ann, Prisiila, Keyna, Corey, Roger and lots of others names I can’t remember. I was admitted in mid October for rehab on a broken hip. Timberline Post Acute is amazing. For three weeks I had physical therapy with a very caring team. They helped me work towards my goal with compassion and a little bit of a push. I worked hard and yet they made it fun. I went from getting around in a wheelchair to using a walker during my time at TPA. I got to enjoy my residency through the Halloween season. Best season ever if you have to be there. They had a really fun haunted house and activities that were geared towards Halloween. They had Bingo and a lot of other fun things to do to engage the residents. The food was good with my favorite thing being the huge chef salads. Everyone I came in contact with that worked there really seemed to care about you no matter who they were or who you were. I miss my time there very much. I am now walking with a cane and I have promised to bring in chocolate chip cookies for everyone when I kick it(my cane) to the curb. I’m almost there. I hope to bring them in by the end of February to say thank you for everything that you all have done for me.

I recently had to put a family there for physical therapy and special care that I couldn’t give them at home. Let me tell you this place is so amazing. Anne and the crew that work there always have a big smile and they are so welcoming and so caring. I looked at other places and this is the top one I decided on. Im so glad that my family member is here. I wanna give them a special thank you for caring for my family member.

My loved one was at Timberline for 3 1/2 weeks for post-surgery rehab. This place is fantastic! The PT and OT staff worked wonders and were so great in helping him make progress day to day. The nurses, medication specialists and especially the CNAs were so caring and sweet. You can tell a lot about a place by how the employees act, and at Timberline the employees are happy, smiling and seem to really enjoy being there. The food was “really good” it was reported to me, and the residents get menus every day where they choose what they want to eat the next day. There are various activities always being offered, and oftentimes we’d just hang out in the front patio area or in the front lobby/dining area where other residents would be too. My loved one really appreciated the care and attention they received and raved about how great the employees were to us every day. Really great facility, highly recommended.

My grandma came there for therapy and she did amazing. The care that she had was awesome as she only spoke Spanish there was always someone there that understood her and helped with her needs. There were a few pets that were there. She always wanted to get up and see him the main 1 was a gray pit that is so happy and comforting as she fed him and loved on him.
